Zombieville USA 2

Zombieville USA 2 is a zombie shooter game that lets you fight hordes of zombies again. The game features pick-up-and-play arcade action, iCloud support, and wireless Co-op multiplayer via bluetooth or WiFi.

This app is awesome but overly complicated. I don't like the wheel control things. Levels are timed. This is definitely not an upgrade to the original. Now I go to play the first Zombieville.

Simple Passcode not working after iOS 5 updated

I had installed iOS 5 on my iPad 2 and it worked fine for awhile. Today I noted that the usual passcode didn't work to login and was completely messed up, but I didn't change the passcode.

I tried using my "exchange" password which I used to set up my "Exchange" account on my iPad so I could access my work calendars and email. My iPad unlocked. Then I went to Setting, turned on "Simple Password", and reseted the Passcode to my old simple four digit password.

My 3 year old daughter has fallen in love with Stella and Sam. The app is beautifully done and cute for small children, but it looks like a mini TV episode with a brief pauses.

How to split on-screen keyboard on iPad iOS 5

In iOS 5, you are able to split the on-screen keyboard. That 's very useful when your iPad is in landscape mode. The new feature works on both the original iPad and iPad 2.

How to split the on-screen keyboard

* Bring up the keyboard from within any app.
* Use a finger from each hand on the keyboard, and then tap and pull your fingers outwards.
* Once you've done, the keyboard will quickly split, with one half near the bottom right of the screen and the other half near the bottom left.

Stuck on Find my iPad while configuring iOS5

I was stuck on the "Find my iPad" while configuring my iPad with iOS 5. When I tried to choose either "find my ipad" or "not find my ipad" and then touch the "NEXT" button in the screen, nothing happened. That's annoying.

The update procedure to iOS 5 is confusing. Go back to do the whole procedure again. Works for me.

iPad Safari cache problem after iOS 5 installed

There is an annoying problem in Safari on my iPad 2 since updated to iOS 5. When I navigate to a web page that I have visited recently, I am taken to an old version of the page displaying more recently-posted content. The Safari just loads the page from its cache. I tap Setting > Safari > Clear History > Clear Cookies and Data, but not working.

I think the Safari is loading some old cached version on iOS 5. Tapping Settings > Safari > Advanced/Websites and deleting the specific website temporarily seem to fix the issue. You can also try other browser.

TomTom app 1.9 now optimized for iPad

The popular TomTom navigation app on the iPhone has finally been optimized for the iPad. With an update, the app adds native iPad support, most up-to-date maps and an improved interface.

Cannot enable automatic downloads on iPad

I can't enable Automatic downloads on my iPad 2 iOS 4.3.3. I go to Setting > Store, and turn on Automatic Downloads for Music, Apps and Books. The buttons switch to ON for 6 seconds and then they turn themselves off. Try restarting and syncing with Mac, but still not working. How to resolve the issue?

On your iPad, just sign out of your iTunes account and then sign back in again. That will be enabled.

iTunes Password prompt after iPad update to iOS5

I just updated my iPad 2 with the iOS 5 last night. Today when I woke up, a prompt box popped up in iTunes asking me to enter a password to access my backup files. But I never set a password.

It must be an iTunes bug and the key is that it is a password used on your device. I tried using my Windows user account password on my PC and solved my problem. Your Facebook, Gmail and Twitter on your device will be one of these passwords.

Bypass password-protected locksreen on iPad 2 iOS 5

A German forum Apfeltalk has posted a way to bypass a password-protected locksreen on an iPad 2 running iOS 5. That's a potentially serious flaw in the iPad password security function. But this only opens the screen you were last looking at.

* On your iPad, enable password protection and lock it.
* Hold down the power button for 3 seconds until a red "slide to power off" slider displays.
* Simply grazing a magnet across the right side of the tablet and then tap "cancel" on the screen.

Music app not show Lyrics in iPad iOS 5

Therer are about 90% lyrics of my 80GB's of music in my library. After I update my iPad 2 to iOS 5, the new GUI of Music app doesn't show lyrics anymore and always crashes. The lyrics still show on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.

That looks like a bug. How can I get back the lyrics on my iPad? Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon.

iWork documents deleted by iCloud on iPad

After updating my devices to iOS 5, I went to sync my documents with iCloud. iWork documents successfully synced, and were viewable on my iPad, iPhone and iCloud. But this morning the Pages, Numbers, and Keynote docs disappeared from my iPad. No file on iCloud. All documents lost and no longer stored in my local backup. Restarting and restoring the iPad failed. That's a pretty serious bug.

* On your Mac, go to ~/Library/Mobile Documents.delete.*****, and copy the files to "~/Library/Mobile Documents/". For example, to recover my Pages documents, just copy "~/Library/Mobile Documents.delete.Sat Oct 18 08:00:20 2011/com~apple~Pages/Documents" to "~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents".
* Rename each document folder by removing the ending "-tef", and rename each folder back again.
* Then the iCloud will sync docs up again and recognize them.

That works and everything comes back on iCloud.com, iPad and iPhone.

How To import Gmail Contacts into iCloud

My iPad has updated to iOS 5 and I really love the iCloud feature. Is there a way to sync Google Contacts with iCloud. Should I import .csv file to iCloud?

How To import Gmail Contacts into iCloud
* On your iPad, tap Settings > iCloud and turn on Contacts.
* Access your Gmail account On the Mac or PC, and go to your Google Contacts. Click the More menu > Export, choose all contacts you want to export, select vCard format. Click "Export", download the file to your computer and rename the contacts.vcf to yourname.vcf.
* Access www.icloud.com with your Apple ID account and go to the contacts. Make sure there is no contacts listed. Then drag the vcf file into the page.

iPad 3 production

Rumor:
Now the iPhone 4S has released and Apple is about to start increasing its iPad production. The iPad 3 will go into production by year end and be launched at an early 2012, possibly March.

According to a report, Apple begins assembling it in small quantities for testing purposes, without Samsung as components supplier.

No iOS 5 AirPlay mirroring button on iPad 2

I has upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 5, and upgraded iTunes to the latest version on my Mac. My Apple TV 2nd also has been upgraded to the latest software. But there is no AirPlay mirroring button on iPad 2. The iPad connectes to the router via Wi-Fi, and the Mac connectes to the router via Ethernet. How to get the feature to work?

* Try rebooting both the router and modem.
* If you activate AirPlay and then the iPad loses the connection to Apple TV, restart your device.
* Disable the Wi-Fi on your computer.

How to disable tabbed browsing in Safari on iOS 5

I extremely love the reader feature in Safari on iOS 5, but the tabbed browsing simply takes too much space from the screen on my iPad. The older safari on iOS 4 for tabs was a whole lot better. How to disable tab bar in Safari?

I rarely use the Newsstand app on my iPad updated to iOS 5. The app looks like actually a folder and stores magazines. How can I move the Newsstand into a folder?

You can do that by the following steps, but the Newsstand app will crash while used.

* Take two apps and go to create a folder.
* The apps are in the folder, then drag Newsstand into the folder quickly enough.

Does iPad 2 support Siri integration

Siri is the intelligent assistant that helps you get things done. Does Siri work with an iPad 2?

No. Siri is released in Beta. Apple incorporated Siri into iOS 5 for iPhone 4S only. It is not available on iPad device.

iOS 5 gestures for iPad 2

If your iPad 2 has been updated to iOS 5, you can get several new multitouch gestures for working with apps and the multitasking bar.

* A four or five-finger upward swipe: Pull up the multitasking bar along the bottom of the screen.

* A four or five-finger Pinch: Quickly return to the home screen.

You can also create, save, and play back your custom gestures using the new AssistiveTouch feature in iOS 5.

iTunes Movie Trailers for iPad

iTunes Movie Trailers lets you watch the newest movie previews in HD from your iPad. With the app, you can browse the movie trailers, clips, HD photos, find showtimes near you and get ticket info.

The app is absurdly beautiful, and supports AirPlay and Apple TV. But it crashes while I am trying to search for theaters. Currently only available for the US.

How to change iCloud Apple ID on iPad

I had set-up my iPad with an Apple ID for iCloud, when updating the device to iOS 5. Now I need to use other Apple ID's that I typically use for purchasing apps. But the iCloud Apple ID is grayed out.

* Tap Settings > iCloud.
* There is a big red "Delete Account." at the bottom of the screen. Tap it.
* It will sign you out of iCloud. And then you can sign-in with the proper account.

When I installed the iOS 5 on my iPad 2, I skipped the activation of iCloud. Now I need to tie the iPad to iCloud. In the settings, both twitter and iCloud are gone and can't be activated. My mail settings are grayed out as well as is the fetch/push setting. And I can not edit any of my account settings. Try resetting the device with no success.

How to fix the iCloud issue
* Tap Setting > General > Restrictions, and turn off restrictions. The iCloud and Twitter could be re-enabled.
* Restoring your iPad also solves the problem.

iMessage not syncing between iPad and iPhone

My iPhone 4 an iPad 2 are both on iOS 5.0. After setp up iMessage feature, iMessage works fine on the devices. But today I find that the iMessage is not syncing between iPad and iPhone that are using the same Apple ID. When I receive the message on the iPhone, it doesn't show up on my iPad.

Make sure the same Caller ID address set on both devices by tapping Settings > Messages > Recieve At > Caller ID. And then delete all things from iMessage contacts on both iPad and iPhone, the syncing will work properly.

How to turn off iCloud backup on iPad iOS 5

iCloud users have 5GB space and can manage what information is backed up and stored on iCloud from your iPad running iOS 5. If you want to free up the space on your iCloud account, try the following steps:

* Tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage.
* Under the Backups, you can see the devices you are backing up to iCloud. Tap the device to turn off iCloud backup, app by app.

iCloud there was a problem completing the backup

After I installed the iOS5 on my iPad 2, I got this error message: "There was a problem completing the backup." while completing a back-up to iCloud. I tried hard reset, reset network, and erase all contents, but the problem is still there. I was able to get my iPhone 4 to complete the back-up with iCloud.

To fix the "iCloud backup failed" issue, you have to plug the iPad to your PC, and enable the iCloud backup services in itunes. In the iTunes, click on your device on left side. Then select the back up to icloud under the "Summary" tab.

iPad apps not working after updated to iOS5

After I updated from 4.3.5 to 5.0 on my iPad 2, the built-in apps(Safari and Calendar) work fine but other apps will not load. It simply keeps crashing and then is back to the home screen. How to fix the issue?

You need to open up the App Store on your device and update all the apps you have purchased. The problem seems to be resolved. If all apps have completely updated and still crash, delete one of your apps at a time and re-install it from App store.

Enable iOS 5.0 multitasking gestures on iPad 1

iOS 5 includes many multitasking gestures to help you get around even quicker on your iPad. But my iPad 1 running iOS 5 doesn't have any gesture setting and the multitasking gestures is not working. How to enable this feature?

It seems it's not supported on iPad 1st generation. That's unreasonable.

iOS 5 iMessage Won't Activate

I had updated my iPad 2 to the iOS 5.0. Everything works fine except that the iMessage app won't activate. When I try to sign in to iMessage using my Apple ID, it displays the error "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." The iPad has connected to WiFi network with no problem.

Tap Settings > General > Restrictions, then disable restrictions. iCloud need to be on as well. Hopefully Apple will fix the issue.

iOS 5 Find My Friends Feature

The iOS 5 includes a new feature called Find My Friends, which helps you keep track of other iPad, iPhone, iPod touch users in real-time. The Find My Friends app is a great way to share your location with your friends and family.

With Find My Friends, you can choose to temporarily share your location. There are also important privacy and parental control options. If you want to hide your location, just turn "Hide from Followers" off in the app.

Official Facebook app for iPad released finally

Facebook has finally launched its official iPad app. The app includes lots of cool new features: bigger and better photos, a fast navigation system in the left-panel menu, use your favorite Facebook apps and paly games in full-screen mode.

The iPad app includes no ads for now. Played with it for about 8 minutes in iPad 1 and it worked fine. But crashed immediately on the iPad 2.

The Alien Dalvik 2.0 app promises to be seamless and is completely transparent to the user. But it seems to violate the ToS. Will Apple approve the app or just block it?

In iOS 5, Wi-Fi sync feature allow you to wireless sync your iPad or iPhone device to your Mac or PC over a shared Wi-Fi connection. So you can keep your photos, videos, music, and apps in sync without connect your iPad to the PC using cable.

How to setup WiFi Sync on the iPad running iOS 5
* Use the usb cable to connect your iPad to your PC.
* Make sure your iTunes is the latest version in the PC. Open the iTunes, and choose your iPad device in the left-hand pane. Under the "Summary" tab, check "Sync Over Wi-Fi Connection" and click "Sync" to save the setting.
* On your iPad, tap Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync > Sync Now. Your device will automatically sync and backup all things to iTunes.

Mail won't rotate while turned iPad sideways

After I update my iPad 3G to iOS 4.2.1, I'm not able to have Mail rotate while turning iPad sideways, but other apps rotate and lock with the software new switch. The Mail is just stuck in the landscape mode and can't recognize portrait mode. I has enabled the rotation function in the setting.

If you have the same issue, just shutdown and then restart your iPad. The Mail screen will operates properly. The solution works for me.

iOS 5 and iCloud available October 12th

The latest iOS 5 and the cloud based service iCloud will be released on October 12th. The iOS 5 would be as a free upgrade for the iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4th gen and iPod Touch 3rd gen.

iOS 5 AirPlay Mirroring can wirelessly mirror all video on the screen of the iPad 2 device to an Apple TV 2. And this feature also enables iPad games On TV at slide to play.

I has downloaded Firemint's Real Racing 2 HD and play it with AirPlay mirroring. The game seems to support fully wireless TV-Out by AirPlay Mirroring to an Apple TV. It works great on my big screen, and the sound is incredible.

Display projects visually with Timeli for iPad

Timeli is a management app that helps you manage multiple projects with individual tasks on a timeline. The app lets you see all the projects you're working on, what order they are due in, and what's coming up next. And you can create separate tasks with each timeline.

Timeli has simple user interface and is what I was looking for. I can use a high-level timeline to spread out all of my projects, tasks, iterations and phases. If the app has a place where you can see all the tasks that are scheduled for a certain day, that'll be great.
