Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPad

Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPad is not on par with the full version of desktop Photoshop software, but it transforms images with core Photoshop features and looks powerful. The app features layers, selection tools, adjustments, filters and select part of an image to extrac. It supports using AirPrint for WiFi printing and allows you to upload projects to Adobe Creative Cloud.

The maximum image resolution of Adobe Photoshop Touch is only 1600 x 1600 pixels. It is too small and I can't import larger images over about 2.5 megapixel. It is also lack of Dropbox support and doesn't support iCloud.

Downlaod Adobe Photoshop Touch ($9.99) from iTunes.

iPad songs stuck "preparing to download"

I used iTunes Match to download about 300 songs on my iPad 2. But these songs stuck on "preparing to download" with no progress in iTunes for a couple of days. The internet connection works fine. Try restarting iPad and signing out of my apple account and back again. That's still no working. I can't also clear them.

How to fix songs "preparing to download" issue
* On your computer, deleted the songs completely from iCloud, added them back to iTunes and uploaded back to iCloud. Then you can download them from the tablet with no issue.
* You can also force iTunes match to download other material cleared the previously stuck downloads. In iTunes app, tap Purchased tab > Not on this iPad > Recent Purchases, and download some items that were not present on the device.

iPad 1 is slower after upgraded to iOS5

Since upgrading to the iOS5, I experience a big drop in performance on my iPad1 3G. The tablet is noticeably slower. Apps no longer switch quickly and some apps are not working. Mail app takes a long time to load new emails. Delays in gestures and safari. Reinstalling the iOS and still get the same issues. The iOS5 is almost unusable.

The lowest devices often seem to lag and sometimes severely slow in performance with new iOS firmware. iPad 2 and iPhone 4 actually work nicely with iOS 5. You can turn off Documents and Data from icloud on iPad 1.

Images won't show in iPad mail app

Everytime I get an email message with regular jpeg images, they come up as blue squares with a question mark. I access my gmail in Safari and it shows a question mark. But those images are just fine when I open the email on my MacBook Pro.

If images won't show in mail app, tap Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calendars, and turn "Load Remote Images" on. Then do a reset by holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for 5 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Restarting the device also solved the issue.

iPad 3 features siri

Rumours
Apple's third-generation iPad device, the iPad 3, will almost feature Siri. Siri is the intelligent personal assistant that lets you use your voice to do things, such as set reminders, send messages and more. iPad 3 ship to the US from China starting February 26.

It seems that Apple is working on Siri Dictation and maybe possibly exclusively for iPad 3 with iOS 5.1. If Siri is also putted on the original iPad and iPad 2 tablet devices, that'll be great.

Wind-up Knight for iPad

Wind-up Knight is a high-end 3D action game that lets you play as a tiny knight to charg through each fiendishly-designed level. In order to survive to rescue the Princess, you have to jump, roll, attack and shield anything in your way.

The game is very solid gameplay, extremely fun while becoming challenging as well. If you want to maximize the rewards in every level, I think you do require loads of patience and impeccable precision. Now Wind-up Knight is free and brings a update with screen rotation support.

Download Wind-up Knight (Free) from iTunes.

OnLive Desktop brings Flash and Windows apps to iPad

OnLive is a computing company providing video games through the cloud. It has a virtual desktop, called OnLive Desktop Plus, to deliver Windows applications to iPad tablet. They are also plans to support Google Android tablets.

With OnLive Desktop, iPad users are able to use fully functioning versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Flash player and Windows 7 cloud desktop. I was testing this service on a 10 day, but it doesn't allow me to edit the document. Certainly not for a business person.

Safari Bookmarks not Syncing to iPad through iCloud

The iCloud doesn't sync my bookmarks from Safari on my Mac to my iPad running iOS 5.0, but other iCloud services work fine, such as Contacts and Calendar. Now I can't get safari bookmarks and reading list on my iPad.

How to fix Safari Bookmarks not sync with iCloud
* On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud, and uncheck Bookmarks in the box.
* On your iPad, tap Setting > iCloud, and disable Boomarks sync, then choose to delete the bookmarks.
* Go to turn Bookmarks on again on your Mac and wait for minutes. Then re-enable Bookmark sync on the iPad.

Airprint with portable photo printer

I have an HP470 mobile printer with wifi and bluetooth. I need to print photo from my mobile office, but there isn't no way to print directly to this printer from my iPad 2. Should I associate it with a wireless network or do an iOS update?

At this time, there is not a mobile Airprint compatible printer. The future products may include one. However, you can establish an ad hoc network with some hp models. The products includes Airport Express, Inverter for the AE, Print Central Pro app. With them, you are able to plug mobile printer to get you on the road and connect your iPad to it wirelessly.

Photos isn't transferring to iPad after iOS upgrade

There are about 60000 photos organised in lots of albums and events on my iPhoto library. My iPhone 4s syncs photos without problem, but the photos in iPhoto is no loger transferring to my iPad after upgraded to iOS5/iCloud. I have done a normal sync with iTunes for over 20 hours. iTunes stuck at "Waiting for items to copy" and the iPad gets albums with no content. Having the same issue with movies. Try checking all software up to date, restarting the device, but not working.

The problem is to do with the number of photos to sync or total size. There seems a way to fix the issue. However, it doesn't work at all for everyone.

* On your Mac, open finder, go to your pictures folder.
* Right click the iPhoto Library, select "Show Package * Contents", and then delete the "iPod Photo Cache" folder.

Thermo's Weather app for iPad

Thermo is a simple weather app with beautiful design. Its iPhone version has had over 750,000 downloads, and now it becomes a universal app with a new iPad version. Thermo doesn't show you a weather symbol, but displays a thermometer with fun text.

I have used Thermo app for five days. It does it present the current temperature, and doesn't provide more data. If you want to have thermometer on your tablet, choose this app.

Download Thermo (Free) from iTunes.

iPad unable to upgrade Pandora to Pandora One

When I sign in to iTunes and try to upgrade in Pandora on my iPad first generation, the upgrade button is not highlighted in the Pandora station list, even not respond. Now I can't find a way to upgrade Pandora to Pandora One. But I have set up my account to be able to pay for the service.

To upgrade to Pandora one on iOS device, you need to go to Settings > General, and disable "In-app purchases" to allow upgrade. Worked for me.

iPad 2 screen won't scroll to next page

On the home screen of my iPad 2 runing iOS 5, I can open apps by double clicking on them. But it won't scroll when I try to scroll the screen to the next page. It seems that the voice repeats everything. I can not also shrink or enlarge pothos, and even can't scroll down the page in the setting. How can I fix the issue?

You need to turn accessibility features off by the following steps:
* Connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes.
* Select your device on the left side.
* On the right, click on the Summary Tab > Configure Universal Access in in the Options section, and click "Neither" in Seeing.

Eufloria HD for iPad review

Eufloria HD for iPad is a real-time strategy game that lets you send out the seeds to discover and colonize nearby asteroids. There are a variety of modes: a Story mode with 25 levels, Relaxed Mode without any time restrictions, and Dark Matter mode which is more challenging method. The game has enhanced graphics and great music, both of which are an absolute treat.

Eufloria HD is extremely easy to play yet viciously intense at times. I had played this game on my computer in 2010. Its controls on the iPad are so much streamlined than the PC version. Now I am putting a day into the campaign than any other iPad game. But I can't find the save progress. Overall highly recommend.

Download Eufloria HD ($4.99) from iTunes.

It is easy to gift an app from an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch to a friend or family member. I want to puschase an ibook as a gift for an iPad user on the holidays, a birthday? How can I just buy it and give it to them?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to gift iBooks to another account/user since now. But you can give them an iTunes card and then recommend the book. With the Kindle app for iOS device, you could purchase a Kindle book as a gift.

iStopMotion is a useful app that help you create stop motion animations and time lapse recordings with the highly-rated iStopMotion on your iPad. The app has lots of key features, such as overlay the current live camera image, instant Playback, beautiful timeline in your movie.

iStopMotion is nearly flawless execution for time-lapse. My 8 year old and I built a massive LEGO project, it helps us create a fun 50 second video. Hoping that it would add audio, the ability to use photos from camera roll, and picture option like duplicate or reverse set.

Download iStopMotion for iPad ($4.99) from iTunes.

Use wireless mouse on iPad 2

My iPad 2 has been connected to a wireless bluetooth keyboard and that works fine. I use an EMR software at work that is Windows based, so I want to use the device as a mini laptop. Can I use Apple wireless mouse to connect to the iPad for do some functions?

No, you can't. Mouse support would be great, but I choose for arrow keys. The Zaggmate keyboard can move the insertion point by by the arrow keys (left, right, up and down). There is an app that let's you control an iPad with a Bluetooth mouse, but it requires jailbreak.

There are some photo editing apps, games that would greatly benefit from using a mouse. Now the iPad is useless in these environments.

No audio data found error on iPad 2

The app worked fine on my iPad with iOS 5.0.1. Today when I attempt to play some mp3 audio files, the app displays "audio error - No Audio Data Found" message. Sometimes it plays and sometimes won't play.

Then I try holding down the on/off switch and the Home button until you see the Apple logo, but not working. I note that my Verizon 3g iPhone also has the same issue. Hope someone else are able to resolve this issue.

Should i wait for iPad 3 or get iPad 2

My birthday is only less than a month away. If I buy the iPad 2 and then Apple come out with an iPad 3, that will cause me to regret not waiting. When the next generation device releases?

Apple know how to keep the people waiting and keep their products top notch. According to rumors, iPad 3 announcement will come from Apple first week in March. It is rumored to bring you something very stunning. The next generation has Siri and High-Resolution sharp screen. You'd better wait and see if the iPad 3 does come out.

iPad 3 with Macroscalar processor architecture

Rumor
Apple's Macroscalar is a new processor architecture that is likely to power the next generation of iOS devices, including iPad 3 and iPhone 5. This technology enables the processor to be far more efficient, so the iPad 3 could be faster and more battery efficient. In addition, it would be able to maintain multiple separate pipelines at once.

Apple has been focusing on this specific processor since 2004. They have encountered issues and get it working correctly. I hope that Apple's next-gen tablet could work with the A6 processor.

How to repeat events on iPad calendar

On my Mac, it's easy to establish a repeating event for a specific day in the month from calendar. I am able to set up events to repeat second Saturday of the month, but I can't figure out how to do that on my iPad.

You can't directly create complex repeating events from the iPad itself. But you can create a custom event to repeat on a specific day in ical on your Mac, then sync that back to your iPad.

Using a USB dongle with an iPad 2

My friend is going travelling and there's no wifi access there. Is there a way of using a dongle with a 3G iPad 2 to connect to the internet? I thought there might be some accessories that can help he.

There is no USB dongle for the iPad. The i-FlashDrive has an iPad connector on one end and a USB connector on the other, but it only adds external storage to iOS device. You can use a phone as a hotspot or purchase a MiFi personal hotspot device.

With the app, you can easily edit any videos, photos and audio already in your iPad library, or media imported from iTunes and cameras. Then share highly professional movie directly to YouTube, Facebook.

Avid Studio have more great features than iMovie. Real timeline, controllable animated titles, and montage compositions with multiple video layers. Everything works well on my iPad 2, but it only allows you to save 720p video and not 1080p. It crashes on the iPad 1 when I try to render. Overall, it's excellent.

Easy-Bake Cupcakes - Make Virtual Cupcakes on iPad

Hasbro's Easy-Bake Cupcakes! is a lifestyle app that lets you make virtual cupcakes from the iPad, including bake, decorate, and then eat (not for real) or share it to your friends. You need to do is pick your cupcake mix, fill the pan with cupcake batter and water then mix, and put them into the pan to cook. That is virtual, but it will make you hungry fast.

The app is fun and my 3 year old can't stop playing by himself. It reminds my fond childhood memories. I would like I can change the tablet, plate and the food could look a little more realistic.
