Where's My Water?

Where's My Water? is Disney mobile's latest game for iPad, which unseats Angry Birds as No.1 paid app. In this fluid physics puzzle game, you need to guide water into Swampy the Alligator's bathtub, and divert hazardous liquids away from there. The app incorporates a simple mechanic, but that is difficult to master.

Where's My Water? is made for anybody younger than 10, but I couldn't stop playing after I played a few levels. It is the definition of "one more level" gameplay. Although it's enjoyable, some levels are slightly larger than iPad screen.

Racetrack for Toy Cars on iPad with Disney

Disney has unveiled its Mobile Application Toys that can incorporates a real toy car into an iPad app and turns the iPad into a racetrack for toy cars.

The app is is based on the Disney movie Cars 2. In the game, you will place a toy car on the iPad screen, and move it along the road. The cars includes four different characters: Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell.

Mobile Application Toys will be available from October 1. You can buy them from Disney stores and Apple stores.

Skype for iPad supports Bluetooth headsets

Skype's recently released iPad version have have been updated. The app bring some new features, including Bluetooth headsets support, and anti-shake correction.

With Bluetooth support, iPad 2 usres can easily use headsets to make and receive hands-free video calling. And the anti-shake feature helps you to reduce the jitter effect while holding your iPad in your hand for chating.

SlideRocket Player - iPad Presentations App

SlideRocket Player is a presentations app published by VMware. With the app, you can simply show your existing SlideRocket presentations or import PowerPoint presentations. It is a great way to show presentations offline, see analytics and view patterns on your iPad.

Although Keynote is a good presentations app, SlideRocket Player has lots of powerful collaboration features. The app makes presentations mobile, fun and incredibly easy to use.

iOS 5's AirPlay Mirroring can stream video from iPad 2 to Apple TV 2nd generation. Does the feature support audio?

My iPad 2 have been updated to iOS 5. I'm able to watch a video in safari while airplay mirroring. The sound indeed works great.

If your iPad are running iOS 4 version, you could only see a totla amount of space used by all apps on the device. Once you have updated it to iOS 5, you can find the storage space used by your installed apps.

To do that, tap Setting > General > Usage. You can see how much space is used by every installed app. When you drill down on each app, you can see how much space is taken by its documents or datas.

Smart Cover rubs against iPad 2

I hate blemishes and scratches on my electronics, but the Smart Cover rubs against my iPad 2 and leaves metal residue.

There is a small wearing of the metal on the Apple Smart Cover where the two hinges meet the connecting rod that runs between them. Both hinges are rubbing off. My iPad gets small scratches where the hinges meet the device aluminum body. And the back of the iPad has a line of graphite. Very annoying.

Living Earth HD is a nice world clock, alarm and weather app for iPad. The stunningly beautiful 3D earth displays the temperature, wind speed, humidity, 7-day forecasts, cloud patterns and tropical storms. The app supports iOS 5 and also has the alarm clock feature for waking up to a view of the planet.

Living Earth HD is not a replacement for Google Earth. With the app, you can set up multiple time zones and also set the earth to rotate on its own. Now it is the only weather app on my iPad 2.

I Just Forgot for iPad

I Just Forgot is a funny, likeable little critter eBook for iPad. In the story, little Critter struggles to remember what he is supposed to do each day. This app teaches kids it is ok to forget somethings in life and they cannot forget lots of things.

My 5 year old daughter is interested in it. It is so fun to try and find the mouse in almost each picture. That adds to the enjoyment.

Airport utility app for iPad

I have used an iPad 2 extensively on business trips and take my Airport Express for hooking up in non wifi hotels for when I travel. I don't want to take my MacBook Air with me. Is there a Airport utility app to set up the airport express, airport extreme or time capsule, like using on my Mac.

There isn't such an iPad app since now. I also hope Apple comes out with an Airport Utility for iOS version soon. But you can setup the airport in Settings > WiFi on iOS 5 beta.

I think that writing by hand is rather better than typing on the keyboard. Does the iPad natively support English handwriting recognition? If the iPad has this function, any app can invoke it.

Handwriting recognition isn't built into the iPad. It is the possibility that handwriting recognition will be added in iOS 5.

There are some handwriting recognition apps that support handwriting recognition in English, such as WritePad for iPad and PhatPad.

VidRhythm is a musical game-like app that help you easily create your own music video. The app requires a camera, so it's only compatible for iPad 2. Just select a song and a theme, record yourself, your friends through the camera, then the app instantly mash it up into a crazy video remix.

VidRhythm is unbelievably fun and makes everyone think they have actual musical talent. I have created a happy birthday video for my son, that was completed in about 5 minutes. Lots of laughs all around.

Machinarium - iPad 2 game

Machinarium is independent puzzle adventure game that works only on iPad 2. In the game, you will control a robot and need to take him through different challenges. It is a tricky game for sure, but solving the puzzles is what will keep you addicted.

Machinarium is a simply stunning puzzler you must have. It's so full of puzzles and is hard to turn away from. Its real champion is the understated yet heartfelt story, the characterful animations and the bouncy jazzy. But there are quite a few bugs. Still amazing app.

If you have took lots of notes on your iPad and need to quickly delete many of them, the simple tweak MultiNoteDelete can help you delete multiple notes at once. To install this tweak first, you must jailbreak your iPad. I use the notes app frequently, so it's very useful for me.

MultiNoteDelete doesn't add any icon to the Home Screen. In Notes app, just tap the "edit" button, mark the items you want to delete, and then delete.

Notification Center is one of the useful features in iOS 5. Sometime if you need to switch off some notifications for apps and not as a whole, here is how to turn off it in Notification Center on iPad running iOS 5.

* On Home Screen, tap Setting > Notifications.
* Under the "In Notification Center", you can choose the app for which you want the notifications to be disabled. For example, I want to turn off Mail notification, choose Mail to go to its notification settings.
* Turn off Notification Center, set the Alert Style as None and also turn off the Badge App Icon and Sounds.

iPad unknown error 1651 after latest update

My Mac is running Lion and I have updated my iPad 2 to the latest version 4.3.5. Everytime I sync my iPad to iTunes, it keeps popping up the 'unknown error (1651)' message. How to get rid of the issue?

This's probably an iTunes bug. You can solve the problem by installing a micro-sim card in the iPad and turning off celular data.

Palimpsest for iPad is a excellent app that grabs a fresh feed of great articles from popular online magazines like The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, and bring them into a formatted view. The articles are interesting and diverse.

The app fetches about 50 articles on first launch, and then updates 5-10 new articles every day. I use this app nearly every day and I can save articles to Instapaper. It's a good learning tool.

PDF Printer for iPad is a useful app that allows you to convert lots of document formats files to PDF, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote. You can even convert contacts, pictures and texts from Clipboard and web-pages.

PDF Printer has much more convenient UI and works great. The app features Dropbox support, so you are able to sync your Dropbox documents with PDF Pinter content from the corresponding application tab to convert documents. I mostly use it for presentations converting and sometimes for Pages.

Bounce the Bunny offers 60 exciting levels with unique and colorful worlds. It gets my mind going, but the controls are too wascally. Trigger control sometimes doesn't work.

iDuhKnow for iPad

iDuhKnow is a new 3D interactive brain quiz app that is designed to take advantage of the iPad 2's big screen along with the on board gyroscope and joystick. The app has very diverse range of questions, subjects and puzzles. Very challenging.

iDuhKnow is fun to play on my iPad 2, but harder than I think it would be. And I also challenge my friends and watch them struggle with this one.

Newsstand is one of the new features in iOS 5 for iPad, iPhone. Newsstand is a new app in iOS 5 that takes magazine and newspaper subscriptions in your Newsstand folder. You are able to access your favorite publications quickly and easily on the iPad.

NewsStand app looks just like the iBooks and works a bit as the Kindle magazine system. It alerts tell you when new issues arrive, and automatically updates them in the background. You can even read Magazines offline.

Crimson: Steam Pirates for iPad

Crimson: Steam Pirates for iPad has been released by the legendary Bungie. In the fantastic turn-based tactical game, you will command your fleet and your Steampunk crew, and action on the high seas in the Caribbean.

Crimson has tight controls and meaningful strategy. There are 8 voyages in the adventures to play, and over 20 unique crew members with different special abilities. I have finished three missions so far.
