Merriam-Webster Dictionary HD offers America's most useful and respected dictionary on the iPad. With voice search, you can speak a word into the microphone without having to spell it. If you are reference or education, this is a useful tool.

The app is simple and can be used offline, just like Urban Dictionary. It features synonyms & antonyms, audio Pronunciations and example Sentences. I really enjoyed the options to search words with the scrolling index on the side.

Tabbed Browsing on iPad iOS 5

Some 3rd party iPad browser apps have tabbed browsing. In iOS 5, the Safari app will bring desktop-like tabbed browsing to the iPad. You can get the experience with the latest beta of iOS 5.

Tabs are much, nicer to work with. Tapping and dragging to move tabs around. I don't like the separate pages in Safari, because you have to click on the button to see the other windows I have open.

Extra storage for iPad 2

My iPad 2 16GB is nearly out of space and I need to add more storage to it. Is that any way to add memory modules or USB Flash memory drives for adding extra storage?

You can jailbreak your iPad and then hook a 1TB external drive to the device through the camera connection kit. If you don't wan to carry anything extra around, try using the cloud storage service to manage, such as dropbox or Box.net.

That is really very cool things where users get Mac OS 10.6.8 on the iPad 2 devices. There are lots of such silly videos on the YouTube and some people will believe that.

The iPad should have been from the begining, but I think that the device can't run Mac or Windows system until now. User just uses remote desktop app to control the Mac from the iPad, and find it amusing to fool people.

I have 600 Google books and I am just trying to have a single library for convenience on my iPad. How do i transfer my google books to iBook, instead of using the google app.

I think the iBooks app doesn't recognize the Google books, so you can't do that.

Easily into the thousands. That depends on the size of the books and what else do you have on the iPad. I have about 213 pdf books that is 92 MB on my iPad.

AirPlay mirroring for FaceTime with iOS 5 beta 3

There is no way to do that in the pages app.

You can try the SiteToPdf for iPad, but that's unwieldy.
* First open webpage in Safari and copy the link.
* Paste the link in Site2Pdf app to create PDF file and save it.
* Then you can use GoodReader app for reading, email the file.

Track changes in iPad Pages

I have used Pages on my iPad, but can't figure out how to track changes and insert comments. The Documents to Go Premium app can display tracked changes and comments, but you can't edit and create new track changes.

To get around this issue, you can try a remote desktop client on the iPad, such as LogMeIn, Splashtop. Then you can use Word on my computer remotely from my iPad.

Control iPad 2 with iPhone remotely

My iPad 2 is connected to a LED TV over HDMI cable. I want to use the iPad as a rear seat entertainment center and use my iPhone 4 to control videos, such as fast forward video or scroll through the playing content.

To use the iPhone to remotely control iPad, first you have to jailbreak your iPad. Then install the VNC Server app called Veency on the iPad, and use a VNC client app from the app store on the iPhone.

After basically setup and done, you can control iPad from iPhone. This is perfect for watching movies.

Using AirPrint from iPad on mifi

There is an HP Officejet H470 Printer with the wifi adapter in my car. Can I host a mobile hotspot on my iPad 2 and connect to printer, then airPrint from iPad on mifi?

I think it is impossible. You can't act the iPad as a mobile hotspot and the portable printer must be AirPrint compatible with.

Google art project on iPad

The Google Art Project is really a wonderful site, but it requires Flash to be able to view it. The iPad does not support Flash. How can I see Google art project in my iPad 2.

It seems thare isn't a art app that offers access to the Google Art Project. You can try to use the flash-compatible browser called Skyfire. I have not tried it yet myself.

There are no Anti-Virus apps available or required for the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. And there are no antivirus apps available in the iTunes App Store. So you don't need antivirus on apple products.

Losing 3G settings After restore iPad 2 3G

My iPad 2 3G used with an unlimited AT&T data plan and works fine. After I did a restore to iOS 3.22, the iPad lost the settings for cellular 3G service completely and couldn't recognize the SIM card. It just turns into a wi-fi only iPad.

To fix it, tap Settings > General > Reset Network Settings. And use the SIM eject tool to open the SIM tray in the iPad 2, remove the SIM card and insert it again.

Cannot Transferr GarageBand files from Mac to iPad 2

There are 5 simple .band files that don't contain any plugins or video on my Mac. I have added them to the GarageBand list in iTunes and then sync, but the GarageBand app doesn't show these files on my iPad 2. The GB Project on Mac syncing to iPad GB does not work for me.

At least you can't transfer a GarageBand file for your Desktop Mac to GarageBand for iPad. Since now it is a one way trip, iPad to Mac.

Rumour: The iPad 3 is coming this fall.

Create collections in iBooks library

There are several epub books that lumps together in the iBooks library without any category specification. How can I organize them on my iPad?

You can create new collections and put the different categories of books into different collections.
* On the top left of iBooks app, tao the Collections button > 'New' and create a new one.
* On your bookshelf, tap Edit > Move, and move the books into the new collection.

iPad 2 digital av adapter not full screen on HDTV

I just got the iPad 2 and the Apple Digital AV Adapter. Plug it in Sharp 46" LED TV and everything seems fine, but the problem is that the screen display isn't full screen. The scree size appears to about 1/4 of my TV screen.

The iPad resolution is lower than the TV res, so you have to set your TV resolution to 720p or automatic. A few HDMI TVs support to zoom the image to fill the screen top to bottom.
