If you don't like to see just a battery icon on your iPad 2, you can have a percentage of battery left. That helps you to know exactly how much juice you have left on the device.
How to show battery percentage on the iPad 2 Home Screen
* Tap Setting > General > Usage.
* Under the Battery Usage section, turn on "Battery Percentage".
Then you will see the remaining battery percentage in the status bar at the top of the iPad screen.
