iPad 2 lost all contacts when adding new ones

When I manually added a new contact on the iPad 2, it took me to the home screen. The contact book said "no contacts" and all my 350+ contacts were gone.

Then I hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Doing this got all the contacts back for me.

If the contacts are stored on your computer, resyncing with iTunes can restore them. This is a huge iOS bug that needs to be fixed.
