My iPad 2 seems to be stuck in portrait mode and will not rotate. It happened once after I installed Garage Band. Now it is too small for video that way.
You probably have the rotation lock button switched ON. Check the switch above the volume rocker on the side and that fixes it.
It also seems that rebooting did fix the problem.

My i-pad is also stuck in portrait position. The rotation button is not locked on, tapping the rotation lock function will not remove the check. Although my I-pad is not muted, the mute selection is constantly checked and tapping it does not remove the check. Anyone else having this problem?
ReplyDeleteMy wife's i pad 2 has the same problem, but it is only after my son has downloaded some free games. I am going to check the latest updates to see if that helps or remove the games?.
ReplyDeleteAny advice on this?.
hold down on the game untill it starts to shake then click on the cross.
DeleteI had the same issue. I did a full shut off and start up and it released the gyro. Try doing the full shut down to reset your ipad2.
ReplyDeleteThe full shut down/power off worked for me too, thanks. Press and hold the standby button, top right, to power off and then do the same to turn it back on. :)
ReplyDeleteI have rebooted about 6 times now and still no joy. I have OS 5.1 and done a full factory restore and still no luck. Time to go back to the Apple store.
ReplyDeleteI have tried all the suggestions and still no luck. What did they say it was at the Apple Store?
