Some iPad 2 users have noticed some yellowing on the displays of their iPad 2 tablet. They are experiencing light leakage issues. It's dead pixel problem.
My friend bought the White iPad 2 WiFi 64g. After turning it on, he noticed a yellowish bleeding light from the edge of the display on the bottom right. It had light leaks, backlight bleeding, and yellow spots all over the iPad 2 screen. It seems that is a white iPad issue. Does black iPad 2 have got the same issue?
To alleviate the problem, he had to lower the display's brightness. But when you are watching videos or anything else that involves a dark image, you will be experiencing the issue.

Had the same issue with my 64gb black; out of the box, turned it on and screen bleeding down by the home button... no yellowish tint but was enough for me to return to Apple... Replacement does not have the issue - must have been a defective unit... Bring it back to apple, they will replace it on the spot!
ReplyDeleteI bought a black ipad 2 32gb, it came with the light leak issue, I returned it back to the apple store.
ReplyDeleteI bought a 16GB black iPad and I have the light leaking problem. Although mine doesn't seem to be as bad as some of the pictures I've seen online. I only notice it when I'm in the dark and using an app with a lot of black. But will definitely be exchaning mine as soon as they ship the good ones. This seems to happen a lot with the first shipment of new Apple products but this is the first time I've received one of the defective ones.
