My wireless laptops work just fine with a Netgear 11g router. DHCP provided 192.161.1.2-50 and the IP addresses of the laptops are in the expected range.

My iPad connects via DHCP successfully but get wrong IP address. It reflects 169.254.255.xxx which is not the external IP.

Originally the router was set to 11g/b. I set the router to broadcast 11/b only. Then websites and apps on the iPad connect just fine. There is some sort of incompatibilty issue if you set your router to something other than a single standard.

I Finally has got my iPad Jailbreaked. After set up OpenSSH, I was able to login to my iPad via ssh and it worked perfectly the first time. But now I can't get in, because I got ssh connection refused.

Here is a couple of possibilities:
* Install the lastest OpenSSH on the iPad first.
* Make sure the username is "root" and you use the correct password, ip address, etc.
* Delete the host keys for your FTP program and let them re-compile the next time you try to log on to your iPad.
* Make sure you don't have SSH disabled via the Services App if you have it installed.
* Delete known_hosts file from .ssh directory.

How viewable when using iPad in direct sunlight? Laptops are nearly unusable in direct sunlight.

I had been outside in direct sunlight and there's about a 15 inches of snow on the ground which added a very tough glare. I did have a good pair of Polarized sunglasses on at the time and reading the screen in direct sunlight isn't bad at all.

Reading the iPad in direct sunlight really won't be bad at all. Its screen is readable in direct sunlight as the Kindle.

Fruit Memory HD for iPad is an especially card game for kids & children. This game is fun to play with a group of people and also great for adults. In the game, all of the cards are laid face down on a surface and two cards are flipped over each turn. And you turn over pairs of matching cards. Fruit Memory can be played with one to four players.

This memory game is well-designed, very simple with really nice sound effects, so it makes the other memory games look like crap. This game works flawlessly. Also well worth the money.

Change iPad default backup location

Is it possible to change the default location of the iPad Backup?

No. You can't change the iTunes behavior so far. But you can use a Windows feature of NTFS to point the default backup folder to another drive.

This feature is called "junction". You can get more information via here.

Here is how to point iPad backup to be D:\iPadbackup.

* Make sure the file system of the disk is NTFS.
* Close iTunes on your Windows computer.
* Move the folder c:\documents and settings\user\application data\apple computer\mobile sync\backup to D:\
* Download the junction.zip and extract it to the C disk.
* Open a command prompt and enter the following commands:

cd C:\
junction D:\iPadbackup "C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Apple Computer\Mobile Sync\Backup"

The iPad volume is fine while I play games, but volume is too low when I watch movies. How can I increase iPad volume to hear very well on the highest volume level.

iPad connect to TV only sound no video

I has an Apple Component AV Cable MB 128ZA/B which I buy from the Apple store. When my iPad is connected to my Philips 42" TV, the sound is perfect but there is no video appeared on my TV. The TV screen appears a message "No Video Input". Why the TV has only sound but no video?

How to solve this problem

* Make sure plug the red, green, and blue video plugs into the red, green and blue plugs at the TV. You must match up those colour.
* Select the correct input source on your TV, such as TV, AV1, AV2, HDMI, etc. Pick the one that matches what plugged the cables into.
* Use a composite AV cable. Try several sets of cables. When the Apple Component AV cable connect to the plugs, it may be weak.

After done, sound and video should work.

iPad Update Failed

My iPad update failed with error message. And it's is dead. Then I try to forced restore iPad to fix it.

* Connect iPad to the computer and open iTunes.
* Press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
* Press the home button until iTunes sees the iPad in recovery mode.
* Follow the prompts to restore.

Note: Turn off any antivirus & firewall software before doing above.

iPad 3rd party apps won't launch

There is a common problem with an officially unlocked iPad 3G : all iPad 3rd party apps won't launch. When you click it, it just flash on for fraction of a second and then disappear.

I has two store accounts: One for UK and another for US. And have both accounts running with their apps on my iPad.

I logged to the US account and did the 3rd party apps update. Then I logged out of the US store, log in to UK store and did the update again. After that, all 3rd party apps were running fine.

iPad Unable to connect to hidden ssid network

My iPad is unable to join a wireless network with hidden SSID. If I enable ssid broadcasting, it will work. But when I disable broadcasting, it will not connect again anytime.

Make sure you enter the correct password security type and the correct password first.

How to connect to a Wireless network that is not broadcasting its name or SSID

* Tap Setting > General > Wi-Fi > Other...
* In the SSID screen, enter the network name or SSID in the Name field.
* Tap Security to select Security Encryption Type. Be sure you have chosen WPA Personal from the Security menu(for Macs that support WPA).
* iPad will be prompting you to enter the password.
* Once finish, tap the Join button.

iPad apps not syncing with itunes

When I sync my iPad, some of apps sync and others apps not syncing with itunes. How to fix this issue?

* Right-click by holding down the Control key.
* Click on your iPad listed in devices of iTunes.
* Click "Reset Warnings" at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
* A dialogue box saying "Do you want to transfer some stuff from you iphone to your itunes etc" appears. Click sync again.

Your iPad should sync up. This fixed me up.
